Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective: 21 May 2026 Last updated: 21 May 2026
Summary: Headnote is a digital subscription service. Once a subscription is activated, the access has been delivered and the sale is final. You can cancel auto-renewal anytime; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

1. Free Demo

Every new account starts on the free Demo plan — 3 days of limited access, no card required. You can fully evaluate the platform's research and drafting quality before any payment.

2. Paid subscriptions are final

Because Headnote is a digital subscription service delivered immediately upon payment, all sales are final. We do not issue refunds for:

3. When we will issue a refund

We will issue a full refund in the following limited circumstances:

4. How to request a refund

To request a refund under section 3 above:

  1. Email hello@headnote.in within 7 days of the disputed charge.
  2. Include: your registered email, the order ID (begins with hn_), the reason, and any supporting evidence (bank statement, screenshots).
  3. We respond within 3 business days. If approved, the refund reaches your original payment method within 5–10 business days (varies by bank).

5. Cancelling auto-renewal

Current plans (Weekly, Monthly, Yearly) are one-time payments for a fixed duration — there is no automatic recurring charge. When the period ends, your account simply reverts to the free Demo tier unless you purchase another plan.

If we introduce auto-recurring billing in future, you will be able to cancel auto-renewal from your account settings or by emailing us.

6. Subscription downgrade

You cannot downgrade mid-period (e.g. switch from Yearly to Monthly partway through). When your current period ends, choose any plan you like.

7. Account termination by us

If we terminate your account because you breached our Terms of Service, no refund will be issued. If we terminate your account for any other reason (e.g. discontinuing the Service entirely), we will refund the pro-rata unused portion of your current paid period.

8. Taxes

Refunds, where issued, will be net of any non-recoverable taxes or payment processor fees. GST refunds will follow standard input-credit reversal procedures.
